From last ii-three weeks I started noticing that my iPhone is consuming more than battery than usual, effectually 2 to iii times more than. When I looked at battery consumption details I constitute out that Safari is consuming too much battery. And this is happening consistently from last ii-3 weeks when I don't even employ safari very much. As an example take a await at image attached, for 12 minutes of screen time information technology consumed 73% of bombardment. Why?

iOS version: 9.ii.1

Phone: iPhone 6

Safari: latest available version

  • Hmm. Then my guess is to close all apps and hard restart yous phone. Concord downwards home and power buttons until the screen goes blank, then release the home button. You should see the apple tree symbol with a loading bar.

  • I have a very similar problem, even later on I make clean-install the iPhone. I doubtable it may be a hardware effect, and the battery drain is attributed to Safari in calculations even though information technology's not the prime culprit.

I had this aforementioned problem for the offset after updating my iPhone 6s to iOS 11. I wasn't using Safari equally I apply Chrome only it would consume up to fifty% of my bombardment and I was having to accuse more than oft and so before.

The solution was to disable iCloud syncing for Safari:
Settings → Apple ID → iCloud and turn off Safari.

My phone is now behaving 'normally'.

That'south non total battery used, it'south the pct of battery used out of all battery used for the terminal 4 days. So you started out with 100% battery on monday and on friday you had 80% left. If safari is listed every bit 74%, then that ways most 15% of the xx% was used by safari.

  • True, only the OP says that he wasn't using Safari hardly at all.

12 minutes in 4 days - simply keep in mind other apps may pull upwards a Safari view, and iOS may be counting that depending on the method the apps utilise to do it.

Twitter and Mail are two likely culprits in that location.

  • If Twitter displays web content in a WebView within the Twitter app, that does non count as Safari apply, which is the virtually common case for web content on Twitter.
